What is the CIBIL Rank?

 

The CIBIL Rank is derived from your Company Credit Report (CCR) which summarizes your CCR in the form of one number. It is provided from a scale of 10 to 1, where 1 is the best rank that can be achieved. The rank is now available for companies with current credit exposure of up to Rs. 50 crores.

 

How is the CIBIL Rank calculated?

The major parameters that are used to calculate the CIBIL Rank are past re-payment behavior and credit utilization.

 

What is CIBIL Company Credit Report (CCR)?

CIBIL Company Credit Report is a factual record of your credit payment history compiled from information received from different credit institutions. The purpose of CCR is to help lenders make informed credit decisions - quickly and objectively.

 

Who can access CIBIL Rank and CCR?

 

CIBIL Members, which include leading Banks and Financial Institutions, can access information from CIBIL on the principle of reciprocity i.e. only those Members who have provided all their data to CIBIL are permitted to access CIBIL Credit Reports. Members can do so only to take valid credit decisions. Disclosure to any other person or entity is prohibited. Why is the CIBIL Rank not available for my CCR?

 

CIBIL Rank is now available for companies with current credit exposure of up to Rs. 50 crores. Please be assured that non availability of CIBIL Rank is not a negative thing. You can evaluate your company’s credit performance based on your CIBIL Company Credit Report (CCR).

What is the difference between the CIBIL Rank and a credit rating?

 

Credit ratings have historically been used by businesses as their reputational collateral. Credit Ratings are usually solicited by the ratee and then issued by the credit rating agency once it has evaluated documents provided by the company and interviewed the company's managements.The basic difference between your CIBIL Rank and your credit rating is that the Rank is derived from objective information directly from lenders (the CCR) as compared to information provided by a ratee to a rater.
